Understanding and Preventing Sextortion with AMAZE

February 28- March 1, 2023 at 2:00-3:30 PM EST Daily

This 2-Day workshop will offer families, educators, medical and mental health providers, and other youth-serving adults with the knowledge, awareness, and skills to prevent and navigate an instance of sextortion. Participants will practice using the steps of what to do if they experience sextortion, and discuss methods of healing from the trauma of sextortion. Free, AMAZE Education adult and youth-facing resources will be shared to support further learning in classrooms, group, and individual settings.

Racial Justice in Sex Ed with Virtual Professional Development

March 7-8, 2023 at 1:30-3:00 PM EST Daily

This two-day training will focus on the connection that racial justice has with complete sex education. Participants will complete a training on what is racial justice, why it is necessary, and then identify key strategies to integrate in sex education classrooms. This training is ideal for those working directly with youth with a focus on creating responsive and affirming spaces that recognize racial inequalities and its impact on the health and well-being of young people around the country. Participants will then have the ability to practice the newly learned strategies via the Virtual PD classroom and our student avatars. This immersive experience will give participants the ability to be coached by their subject matter expert on how to best integrate these strategies to impact the education received by our youth.

Teaching Family Life and Sex Education in Upper Elementary with Virtual Professional Development

April 12-13, 2023 at 1:30-3:00 PM EST Daily

This session will provide an overview of the developmental milestones and age-appropriate content for students in upper elementary school. Content will include teaching about boundaries, consent, puberty, sexual abuse prevention, healthy relationships and diverse families. Join us for an interactive training designed to increase your comfort and competence to teach about these vital issues to our students in the elementary grades.

Communicating in Unreasonable Times: Responding to Parent/Caregiver Concerns Regarding Sex Ed

May 9-10, 2023 at 2:00-3:00 PM EST Daily

This two-day training will highlight key strategies to effectively respond to and communicate with parents/caregivers regarding sex education. This essential skills training will prioritize a transfer of content on day one and an opportunity to practice with low stakes virtual professional development software on day two. Practicing with the full support of a content expert will allow attendees the ability to practice the skills as they make progress on communicating in difficult times.
